Siglent SDS5108L Low Profile Digital Oscilloscope

The Siglent SDS5108L offers 8 channels with 1 GHz bandwidth and utilizes SPO technology for high-speed waveform capture (up to 160,000 wfm/s), 256-level intensity grading, and color temperature display. It features a low-jitter digital trigger system with advanced modes, including serial bus triggering, and provides tools like history recording, search and navigation, mask testing, Bode plots, power analysis, and serial decoding, along with extensive math and measurement functions. Although it lacks an integrated display and MSO capability, the SDS5108L can operate as a standalone oscilloscope when connected to an external monitor and mouse or scale to 512 channels using the SYN64 distributor for high-channel-count systems.

Complete Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Testing Solution

Siglent’s introduction of its 8-channel oscilloscopes and optically isolated probes marks a significant advancement in wide bandgap semiconductor testing. The SDS5000L series, in particular, delivers picosecond-level rise time performance, enabling precise capture of the rapid switching behavior found in silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) devices. This capability allows engineers to closely examine transient voltage and current shifts during switching events, as well as phenomena like overshoot and ringing, which are critical for refining circuit design and ensuring signal integrity.

Flexible Multi-channel High-speed Acquisition System

Multiple SDS5000L modules can be synchronized using a 64-channel distributor (SYN64) to form a high-channel-count acquisition system scalable up to 512 channels. Alternatively, an individual SDS5000L module can function as a standalone oscilloscope when connected to an external display and mouse. Remote control is supported via LAN, including web browser access. A comprehensive SCPI command set over the integrated 1000 Mbps Ethernet interface facilitates rapid data acquisition for automated test applications.
